Matthew's costume parade

The kindergarteners, 1st and 2nd graders all got to parade around the block to show off their costumes. It was such a beautiful day out! There were lots of witches, Darth Vader, Power Rangers, Batman, stormtroopers, cheerleaders, angels, mummies, dracula, Spiderman, devils, and so many others. Matthew is counting down the days 'til next year's celebration.

East Troy High Halloween Bash

Katelyn got to decorate cookies!

The kids had their faces painted..how fun!

Matthew was so convinced that it was real, he didn't even want to pose for the picture.

The high school put on a halloween trick or treating bash last night. The first 200 kids received glow necklaces. The kids come in costume and get to trick or treat through the halls and different rooms have different activities like; popcorn and a movie, caramel apples, fortune telling, a very scary(for matthew) haunted house type room, decorate your own cookie, musical chairs game, pumpkin bowling, costume contest, face painting, refreshments(Mcd's orange drink that Katelyn spilled all over me) It looked as if I wet my pants after coming out of the scary room. :{ Fun was had by all!!!

Cookie Love

He was only a chocolate chip cookie...I loved him

I met him at a party. There he was at the end of the buffet...a loner; the last one on the plate. He had a certain something...a sweetness, a sensuality. He was one hot cookie. I felt as if I'd always known him...hungered for him. When he looked at me with those warm brown eyes, I melted. Before I knew it, I had my hands on him, my mouth on him...in public. After that night, we were inseparable. With him I could be myself. He didn't seem to care what mood I was in, how I looked or even if I gained weight. Together we had the recipe for happiness. No one satisfied me like Chip. THEN THINGS CHANGED

My friends said that he was no good for me. He started to give me heartburn. I felt crummy, but it had to end. Now we've gone our separate ways. I hardly think of him anymore. Oh, if I see a certain TV commercial, a particular magazine ad, a coupon for cents off...that old longing returns. And when we run into each other at the supermarket, we nod. We're friendly but it's over!

Today was pretty ordinary, had to run errands (post office, bank, library)
Time to clean and organize my desk (computer area). I have a very disorganized space that is in need of some major help! Oh well, I'll be keeping busy tonight.

Ever had one of those days?

Halloween Breakfast

Today was our annual family Halloween Breakfast. My Mom, sister, brother and families all go to a restaurant which is all decked out for halloween including the waitstaff in wonderful costumes.
The kids like to show off their costumes and run around outside afterwards.

Costumes, Caramel and a little Crazy

Yesterday we went and picked up a few costumes at Goodwill. A princess outfit for Kel and a Darth Vader one for Matthew. We also decided to buy the fixings for caramel apples. The apples turned out very good but gooey and messy in some cases. :)

Afterwards, Michael, his friend and Matthew put on a few costumes and posed for the camera

BOO!

We were "boo"d last night. How fun is it when you get a surprise ring of the doorbell and a treat left behind by a thoughtful neighbor. The treat was a yummy bag of home-made caramel corn and 4 mini candy bars .

I still need to get costumes for the kids. Our Trick or Treating is next Friday so I have one week left! Luckily, Michael is too old for it and Katelyn has a little Tigger outfit that was leftover from Matthew from a few years ago. Kelli would like to go to the Disney store for a costume but we just can't afford that right now. We may have to stop in at Goodwill. Matthew has been searching for a scary mask that I bought for him after Halloween last year but we just can't seem to locate it. If anyone has any inexpensive costume ideas please let me know. Thank you! :)

Stop the ride, I want to get off!

Life's like a rollercoaster ride that you never bought the ticket for

Some days you are up, the next down. I personally would rather just go round and round on a Merry Go Round knowing that you are planted firmly on the ground. There is no hanging upside down, just the gentle wind blowing in your hair.
